I think he means he's abstaining. A difficult though wise choice.

And one that I would lack the strength to make good on.

ugh it hasn't even been a week yet and I'm already going nuts...this is going to be a long few weeks.

to those who have imported ricks to Canada from the states...how long does shipping usually take?

John B. - you've got better will power than me...I always find time to play bass even though I should be studying. Good luck with your mid-terms man...I have biology too but I already had the exam so I'm in the clear for awhile.

John A. - hahaha that is an awesome slogan

Matthew -

how was it shipped? UPS, USPS, FedEx?

if by USPS, you are looking at 1-2 business weeks, for it to clear customs, etc. though - i did just go through an ordeal where a 4001 sat at the shipping plant in Chicago for 3 weeks before it even started its journey. the wait can be painful, but you will only be charged GST and a $5 handling fee, if the bass is declared as 'other' or 'gift'.

by UPS or FedEx about a week - but be prepared to get nailed with out-sourced brokerage fees on top of GST. I just paid $120 in fees for a 485US amp head - ouch.

i find the extra wait with USPS is worth it in the long run and beside the above mentioned incident, have found them to provide the most reliable service.

i've brought in 5 rics in the last 4 months - as mentioned above, careful what you are getting yourself into - 50% of my scholarship money this semester has gone to ric basses - but i doubt anyone here will scold me for that.

I'm pretty sure he's shipping USPS...he said he would declare it as a gift. I don't think the bass has even started it's journey yet...I only mailed the check last tuesday and I don't think Jim got it yet.

Hi Matt,
I just got back from the Post Office and the cheque is still not here, Monday hopefully.

I was going to use UPS to ship the Ric to you but based on Bryce's comments I'll use USPS.

I recently shipped a poster using USPS to John Biscuti. It was supposed to get to get to him within 3 days...it took 3 weeks and a few phone calls to get it to him.

My 4080 came via UPS/Sameday. It took a little over two weeks coming from Nebraska, thanks to a 5 day layover at the customs warehouse in Quebec over the Thanksgiving holiday last year.

When it arrives, check for shipping damage BEFORE signing for it. They won't even think of honoring a claim otherwise. The driver won't be happy about it, but it's not his property, so too bad.
