Jeff, no covers, I got the idea after seeing that 4003 you had with the hb in the bridge position. I think not having covers might help in letting the wide spread on the strings work better, I'm not sure.
This bass is only going to be a blue/green boy until June 2007 when it has a date with Paul W. for a bright white refin w/exposed walnut wings. And I got a jetglo Laredo on order, I wonder how long that's going to stay a four string.
John, the 73's are still going to stay around and come out occasionally. I think they are going to be a great retirement resource twenty years from now.

Yea, that would be nice, I think the Laredo's have slightly nicer, thinner necks than the Cii's do. I believe that walnut headwings should always be exposed, with the exception of jetglo.
Jeff, have you been to the Bayou cables website? They offer pre-wired VVT and concentric pot setups that could be made to one's spec's, then all you would have to do is solder in your pickups and remove the original harness in it's original condition.

Hopefully I can set up a time with you before Saturday night??? Won't have it till maybe Thurs. or Friday. Nice window, eh?
If it doesn't work, I can get by this weekend without it and we'll do it another time...

I think that since Brian has the blackstar 4004, he should do the the tuxedo 4004 also. I'm going to keep my 4004's fret boards natural wood color. I think the walnut wings would go better with an unpainted fret board. When I do the jetglo 4004, it's going to have chrome hardware, stacked pots, natural board, and....five strings.
The white and black 4004's are replacements for the 4003's with the same colors that I've sold in the past year. The 4004 is a very versatile modern rick with unlimited mod potential. If you don't like the hb's, put toasters in. If you think the string spacing is a little wide, put a fifth one on there and tighten it up. You don't really have to use that B string...but you will.
