Mine is in the house and it is wonderful. A little darker color than I anticipated but very rich looking. The special pickguard and TRC are perfect. Will post a more detailed review and photos, gotta go play.

The guys at the shop (Tampa location of a national chain) were stupefyed. The young guy who helped me was really cool. A second guy (MUCH older) came over and was telling me all kinds of "facts" about Rickenbackers. Not a one was true. I smiled and nodded anyway though. When he walked away I filled in the young guy on what was what and we both had a good laugh.

This guitar is COOL. Mucho thanks to the gang in CA for rushing this batch. Cheers, J

I just realized I let an unopened beer get warm while fiddling with this guitar. So, I guess the only excuse for alcohol abuse like that is guitar addiction!

Bought a couple straps, too. Which to use???...

Black?...

Gray?...

...or blue?

Gotta go with the black strap. I can't wait to see what the color look like in real life. The hint of purple looks really nice.

Very, very nice, J! Congratulations!! Image

".... let an unopened beer get warm....". You realise that that is bordering on criminal, don't you???

Black or gray strap, J... I prefer the black myself.

Way to go, J! It looks awesome. Black strap.

I'd be curious to know what some of the "facts" about Ricks were!

Chose blue strap with chrome Schaller strap locks.

This guy told me, "You know John Lennon had TWO Rickenbackers. They were exactly like that (pointing to 360/75th) except solid body. They were specially made for him, one natural and one sunburst."

I played one component of the layered HDN chord (making sure no one saw my fingers, as I am sworn to secrecy) and mentioned you actually needed a 6, 12, bass, and piano to do it properly. He "corrected" me by saying, "no it's just one guitar, playing that" [referring to my partial chord].

I can't remember what else he said, but there were some doozies in there. I think this guy crawled into a bong in 1964 and never left.

Too funny! Why does it seem like everytime you go in a music store, there's always a guy just like that waiting to tell you all about Ricks? I've been through it too many times. You just have to sit back and nod.

Not to the Brits, it isn't.

Cool pics, Jason. Congratulations! I sure hope the 330s aren't far behind the 360s.
