hey Jim...yeah hopefully the check will get there soon and USPS seems like the best way to go even if it takes longer.

well the bass is finally going to start it's voyage to me and it's a good thing...I'm about ready to climb the walls...I just played circumstances by Rush for 5 hours straight just imagining what it's going to sound like when I have a rick in my hands.

It'll not only sound better, but feel much better to play everything.
The best way not to go nuts waiting is to start some project that will take your full concentration.

Hey Matt ---- this has been one very enjoyable thread to read here on the Forum. It was nice to see so many Forumites trying to help you out, to find a Bass, get through Customs, etc. etc. I love this Ric Forum because of situations like this, with people helping each other finding Rickenbacker happiness. I hope your Union Jack Bass arrives soon to sooth your frayed nerves and that you get all the enjoyment from it that you anticipate with both your Blues band and Heavy Metal band. I think the signs are becoming very obvious from this thread, that you appear to be heading for a serious bout with RAS. Post some pictures soon with a big smile on your face. Best of luck with the exams !

thanks Richard and everyone else that has helped me or offered advice...I really appreciate it. There is no other place like this forum...it's awesome!

exams are over now and I have a whole week off so I have lots of down time. And Richard yeah I do have serious RAS...I'm intensely obsessed with ricks, I wouldn't even consider playing anything else.

Matt, I think you're describing 90% of the members here !!

I've been the same way for over 30 years, hasn't let up, nor do I have the urge after all these years to play anything but a Rickenbacker ..

Man waiting for a rick to arrive is worst than being a kid at christmas...it wouldn't be so bad if I knew exactly when this thing was going to get here.

I actually sort of had a false alarm on monday...I woke up to the sound of my parents opening what sounded to me like a package and having just woken up I wasn't thinking very clearly so I thought for a second the rick had arrived. I almost bolted down the stairs that second but then I thought about it for a minute and realized the rick couldn't have possibly gotten here that fast so I rolled over and went back to sleep. Turns out it was just some package for my dad.

I'm guessing the rick will get here by mid-week next week...at least I hope.

Matt,
She should be in Canada by tomorrow or Friday, after that it's in the hands of Canadian customs.
