4004 Mod

Anyone thought of dropping a third pickup into their 4004 'ala Lemmy ??

Not I...but it would not seem to be too hard a trick if one were skilled in a wood shop. Certainly seems a lot less scary than some other mods done around here.

On the subject of potential 4004 mods, I was thinking of trying the 3001 style dual tones (with no volume), but after thinking further if I'd go through that much effort I might as well just build a new harness with dual concentrics.

I suppose building 2 new harnesses might be rather inexpensive - treat it like a Shergold with it's replaceable tone cores!

Glad I like the Laredo the way it is. Not modding is a lot easier!

I've thought about having another p-up closer to the bridge, like the LK.

My doubleneck has HB1's on both necks in the 4002-style bridge position like a Lemmy and the tone on the bass neck is the most "solid",punchy sound of any of my Rick's. It seems like it would be a good mod on a 4004 too.
