Rick B410 Amp Value

Post by keyznstringz »

Here's one for the experts...I own a Rick B410 amp that I purchased new in 1974. This is the one with a head and 2 cabinets with 4 10" Eminence speakers in each. I used it up until about 1981 with a 4080 double neck. It has absolutely NO battle scars at all...looks as good as the day I got it. One speaker cabinet is still original but the other one I converted to a 15" speaker. The original 10" speakers are long gone. I would be curious to know just how many of you might own one of these. It is still an awesome amp and has lots of power and punch. I haven't turned it on in a long time but I am sure it will work fine. I am thinking about selling it due to the fact that I only do studio work now. I am curious as to what anyone here may think it is worth now. Any help would be appreciated.

Raúl Taibo and I were the designers of that series. With the exception of some of the power supply filter caps, these things were fairly indestructible. Both the power and output transformers are really amazing; I found a local maker who custom wound these and fully encapsulated the coils, something you don't normally see in consumer-grade gear.

Wow! The piggyback version. I usually see them as combos. Well, as Jeffrey indicated, these amps are not well known among the gearheads so they're still quite affordable. 120 watts into four 10" speakers in each cabinet. Just dandy! There was also a two 12" cabinet available as well as a bass version that is killer! To hear these amps on record, check out any album from the 90's by The Altar Boys.
Show him the shirts, Adrian.
