If you don't use compression when playing slap & running direct to the PA, don't be surprised when you get shut down.

I used a Punch Factory for a while and liked it but I found it to be poorly built. The input jack became unreliable - I had to wiggle the plug to get it to activate.
On those occasions where I find I need to run a compressor I use the ONLY one I've ever found - a RNC compressor. RNC stand for Really Nice Compressor. Look up some reviews online and believe every word of it. IMO it is the best compressor you can buy for under $2000 (they run about $150 used and $300 new)
