Hey Curmudge. In the spirit of the evening, how about a pumpkinburst?

Same to you Peter. Not that I subscribe to the notion of all hallows' eve in reality.

In case you were all wondering, I am sure that Peter can vouch that no Rickenbacker, fruit or vegetable was injured during the taking of the photo above. Image

(Botanically the pumpkin is a fruit, referring to a certain plant part which grows from a flower. However it is widely regarded as a vegetable in culinary terms, referring to how it is eaten).

Nice pic, Peter. Halloween is not something that we have celebrated much in the past but like some other US traditions, it is creeping into our culture more each year.

I'm surprised that we haven't embraced the 4th of July and Thanksgiving yet! Image

Happy Halloween! I'm sitting here at work dressed like Hobbes from "Calvin & Hobbes". Luckily there are no cameras around Image

I'd have a hard time with PumpkinGlo - long story. Basically, half the house we bought 26 years ago was painted pumpkin (accurate color match, too) with pea soup green carpeting. First thing I did was wash down the walls (smokers were there before us) and then I painted the walls (3 coats) of a neutral tan. I still have nightmares of it all.... [shudders]

Great pic, Peter. Classy, like you.

Well, I gotta get in on this...

Now if only some kids would come by and take some of this candy off my hands...I seem to have over-prepared...especially since what I really want to hand out is toothbrushes and Clearasil...
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!

Sorry, my house is all done up and my kids brought home 15 "friends" to share the festivities!

I GOTTA HIDE THE RICS!

Well, Jeff - you wouldn't have to worry about the little beggars coming back next year...... your house would be on the 'never again' list! Image

I still remember coming home after blocks (almost 100% participation of houses) of "begging" and pouring the bagful out on the carpet and sorting and comparing with the sibs - sampling until you were so buzzed on sugar...

We had a few at the door this year but not as many as the last few years... maybe more cautious, as the weather was cold but dry and not windy.
