Just Got A 360 BBR

Post by kog »

New addition to the family today -- a 360/6 BBR from NCM. It's gorgeous, and sounds great. As usual, Gary at North Coast did a superb job of set up, packing, and all around service. And to all the folks at RIC, I have to grit my teeth sometimes about the wait, but it truly is worth it when you see the finished product. You guys put out one quality product!

Now just waiting for my C63 and I will be one happy Rick Camper.

Was trying to add some pics here, but when I shrink the pics to be small enough to upload, they look like postage stamps, so it's really not worth posting. (I've reduced the image size to 278x223 at 72 DPI and the file size is still about 41K. Obviously I'm doing something wrong, but I'll be danged if I know what.)

Ah well...take my word, it's a beauty!

Here you go, Jerry. A bit of cuttin' and shrinkin' but the colours haven't been altered.

Thanks Aitch! The "group" photo is the one with the truest colors. The BBR is a deep blue around the edges, and fades into a lighter blue in the center, but keeps the blue color. I've seen some pictures of other BBRs where it looked like the blue faded a LOT towards the center, which kind of gave it a washed-out look. I was happy that mine kept the blue all the way through, and I love how the wood grain shows through!

Hmmm...I wasn't sure about a future COY of "green", but seeing these two together, it just SCREAMS for a green one! Or a PURPLEBURST! Ooh...a rainbow of Ricks!

Which makes me wonder -- we've seen threads about who has the MOST Ricks. Has there ever been a thread about who has the most DIFFERENT COLORS of Ricks (other than John Hall, of course)?

Incidentally, besides the new 360 BBR, the other two are a 2003 325C58 that's been "Lennonized", and then my first Rick, a 1980 360/12.

Now just waiting for my C63 to make it a foursome.

Jerry,
Absolutely gorgeous!!! It looks great with the toasters. Congratulations. I love the shading on the BBR and as you mention, the ability to still see the grain so clearly. Based on the new FG formula, I think this BBR sitting next to your c63 (when it shows up) will be stunning!

I'm on Gary's hold list for another one just like yours Jerry. I was hoping for a BBR 350V63, but someone beat me to it at Mike Parks' site, and I can't find any anywhere else, so the 360/6 VP was the next choice.

I've already got a 330/12 BBR too. Melissa which BBR's do you have?? You seem to be as rabid about that color as I am. Image

I absolutely LOVE Blueburst, but don't have any BBR's from the Ric factory.... However, I do have this lovely 481 refinned in my own special shade of BBR by Paul:

Hey that looks great! Was Paul reasonable on his prices? Maybe I could find a 350v63 used in some other color and have him refinish it in BBR....
