Hum... an untraditional color. HOW ABOUT A LIGHTSHOW? It is one color, then four colors, then three colors, and comes with a swirl pickguard. Can you possibly beat it? I rest my case!

I've always thought that a greyburst like this would be cool:

I agree, Gary..... looks cool, although I'd prefer it to be darker at the edges.

I'd agree with you on that, Aitch ... I really like the wood grain showing through in the center, too.

Quote: "I believe Blue Boy started out as a special finish for Asia and Europe and later became an "official" COY."

Blueboy is an old-school finish from the 50s if I'm not mistaken, then it was resurrected and first distributed to the overseas markets, then it finally became the COY 2004. Same with MB but I think that finish was quite different back then.

Way back When, MB was a plain, shoe-polish brown finish, not a burst.

Aside from the custom instruments made for Jim Reeves and his band, I don't believe that Blue Boy was ever a "standard" finish in the 50's.

Well, I DID see the proposed COY at a visit to RIC earlier this month, and it is worth waiting for if that's what's gonna happen.

Cool.

John did say the proposed COY was "different."

I am wondering if that meant it doesn't follow into either the "burst" translucent colors, or the opaque colors we have seen in the past.

Paul, i'm wondering if it's more of a "classic" guitar finish or something new altogether.

So, let the speculation begin anew. AArrrggghhhh....

Guys, it's a beautiful COY. I hope they use it for '07. That's all I'm going to say.
