The forbidden J*****box

Post by steambyrd »

I just picked up the forbidden Janglebox on eBay and I am very pleased with the way it sounds with my 360/12 with the high gains. It definitely enhances my "chime," and with a new 9 volt battery and monster cables, it is a whole lot quieter than when I first tried it. It also sounds somewhat different than any setting I can get with the built in compressor in my 370/12 RM, so I'm not so sure it was reverse engineered from that circuitry as some claim.

So that's why it's mention is banned at the RIC forum!

Yep, the circuity was allegedly stolen, or something to that effect.

I've got one and like it a lot, can't compare it to the McGuinn curcuit though.

It's funny, did you ever go on the RIC forum and type in the name "J***** Box?" It comes up as "Jingle Bells."

A pyramid may be a tetrahedron but only if it has a triangle for its base. The famous Egyptian pyramids are pentahedra because they have FIVE sides, the base being a square.

Well I've just bought a J*****box as well (also off Ebay). I'm really excited about it & can't wait to put it between my 325v63 (and my G6119HT, and my Elite 65 Casino, etc.) and my AC50. Woo hoo hoo!!!

I owned a signature McGuinn which I struggled with for 7 years. I also own a Janglebox pedal. Two completely different animals.

The McGuinn has preset user settings with the classic note attack "suck" like old compression pedals all give.

The Jangle box keeps everything tight and sparkling clean with no "suck" along with the ability to adjust settings.

Karl, do you prefer suck or non-suck?

Nope. Atlanta. I came across the listing 45 minutes after it started, and there was a nice BIN price.

Lawton, does it have a DC power outlet?

The Janglebox doesn't come with a power adapter, but their website says any 9 volt (center positive) dc adapter that is 500ma will work. I bought a universal adapter at Walmart for mine, and it works just fine.
