Come on Bob, get a 4005 bought! I sent my wife out on the streets to pay for mine, it was worth it!!!

Old joke time...

The first night she came back with £200.50p.
"Who gave you 50p?" I asked,
"They all did!" was her reply!

I hope she doesn't read this post Image

I guess Francesco answered all my questions with his youtube clips. The 4005 has exactly the sound I like. Now all I need to do is find one!

Great basses!
Great sound, growl is attainable, but also very Mac-ish tones.
Easy to play.
Huge cool factor.
Well, I don't look so cool here, but trust me.

LOL thats funny, Peter!

Nice clips, Francesco. Thanks for posting 'em. It's good to know that John Entwistle is alive and well and occasionally blasting out of a window somewhere in Rome.

Francesco, you won't be disappointed with the extra 2 x 10 cab.

I use an Ashdown MAG C300 115 combo amp with an Ashdown ABM 210 cab and it sounds killer.

I am still deciding whether purchase the extra 2x10 cabm or get rid of the 1x15 Combo and buy the new Ampeg B200R
don't know...the 1st solution sounds cheaper, but the rig will become larger and heavier...
the ampeg solution is more comfortable since we play in clubs
For big events I use an amp like this, with 1x18 speaker:

Francesco - I always love watching bass players do the Who.... very fluid if done right and you are doing it right!

This is my '67 4005WB ran direct into the PA with no processing. I am playing fingerstyle with D'Addario Chromes, three year old ones at that!

Jeff, those are great takes. The second one with all those crazy drummers going even more crazy made me feel for you! Nice stuff, a bit of a nod to Jamerson in the first one, but with more funk, cool playing.

Thanks! If it was a nod to Jamerson, it was unintentional, or perhaps subconscious.
