By placing his fingers on the fingerboard and strumming it.

The same way he played his righty Epiphone Casino and Texan. Just strung in reverse.

Probably installed a new nut or put match sticks on the low E and shaved out the high E. It was probably a new nut.

Wait...Paul who? McCartney or Wilczynski?

Which guitar? McCartney's, Wilczynski's or Anka's.

Any or all! How about one of Macca's, one of Anka's piano and another from Wilczynski - any pix of Jingle Jangle guitars are always great to look at!

(I meant the D-28)

Paul had been playing right handed guitars since the late fifties. You've got to remember that back then, a left handed guitar (especially in Britain) would have been unheard of.

Seriously, what I was getting at was the bridge saddle. That would have to be changedout in order for it to intonate correctly. As far as I know the saddles is angled the wrong way.

I have a 28 and a 35. The pictures of McCartney with his Martin, although hard to see well, do appear to show the bridge angled as it would have come from Martin. In other words, it wasn't changed. If the intonation was off you sure couldn't tell by listening to say, Blackbird.

Are the Grovers on there stock?

I have a Santa Cruz D-28 knockoff that's amazing, with vintage style Martin like tuners that might be the best feature of it.
