Full House Ric Sighting

Post by steverok »

Somehow hit this re-run while channel surfing. There's Uncle Jesse on stage with a marching band, playing at DJs dance, he's playing a Lennon model 350v63. Pretty funny actually. The unrealistic part was, when they got home, he walks in the front door without his Ric. What, he left it in the car ??? He should have immediately walked it upstairs and locked it in the vault, before attending to any family crisis.

Somehow the Olsen twins ended up with that guitar, sold it on ebay to fund their tween empire. Image

I just happened to be looking at the tv in the kitchen today about 11:30am and on WGN they run an old show Homicide - Life on the Street. Bar scene - bass player was playing a JetGlo. Was on the screen all of about 3 seconds over 2 shots. But it was unmistakably Rick!

And on Jeopardy tonight was the question who made the most-played 12-string guitar? We all know the answer, though the guy responded "Rickenbacher" and they let it pass. Even my wife said "RickenBACKer, RickenBACKer!"

Hmm, sounds like a fishy trivia question. What hard data did they use to arrive at this conclusion ? Did they say "electric" guitar ? If not, I would think Guild, Taylor, & Martin would be candidates as well.

Someone should take a clip of that Jeopardy thing, and the one from Law & Order, and stick it on YouTube.

I think they've erased the Jeopardy already off the server or I could burn it to dvd. And I'm not positive on the wording of the question, but it had to do with 12-string guitars.

Didn't it mention a certain WWI Flying Ace as well?

Ok, I looked at the aircheck, and the question was:

"Founded by a relative of a flying ace, this company became famous for its 12-string guitars."

ANYWAY, I just wanted to point out the mention. Unfortunately, it is on a DVD cassette and I have no way to get it into my computer to put on youtube.

Twice last week spotted RICs on TV re-runs. Scrubs had a 325-type in a wedding reception scene and Sabrina the Teenage Witch during a cameo by 10,000 Maniacs with a 350-type.

They pop up in the strangest places.
