Hot d@rn!
VH1 is currently interviewing Nikki Sixx (Bass player)
What's within arms' reach but a 360 fireglo?

Who'd have thunk it?

Are they actually using the Rics, or are they just for looks? Maybe their music will improve if they use the Rics!

This is roughly parallel to rubbernecking while slowly driving by a very bad automobile accident on the highway. You're shamefully mesmerized by the macabre scene, but it's almost impossible to not look.

I trust that Rickenbacker's image will not be permanently tarnished by the recent events that John McKelvy has reported. ~LOL~

If Rick survived "The New Establishment" surely, they can survive Motley Crue!

Actually, If Motley Crue uses Ricks, every punk in town will want one and then the guy waiting for his 4004/5 will have to wait another 470 days!

please don't defame punks by putting them in the same category as Motley Crue.

On the show, Nikki Sixx's 360 was literally within arms reach. . .but he is a bass player (sortof) so I am fairly certain it has not shown up on stage or recordings.

The guitarists' rick was either a solidbody or a 325/350 model. . .they only showed it for a split second.

For all I know the interviews were held in a generic studio suitably decked out with rock n roll paraphernelia.

More ricks showing up in studios you would not expect. I'm doing the holiday thing in a home with cable. . . and had MTV droning on in the background as I was reading a good John Keegan book. Looking up, some special about "22 greatest CD's" is on. One of the top ten albums listed was Metallica's "The Black Album." This is the record most famously known for "Enter Sandman." For a split second clip, the lead growler and rhythm guitarist, James Hetfield, was playing Fireglo 360. I couldn;t tell if it was a 12-string or not.

It was a strange experience, to say the least.

I wouldn't worry about the Motley Crue/Ric thing. MT is about as relevant these days to "the kids" as Devo.

Heee Heee!

For what they are, Metallica is not a horrible band. MC though. .. . . .

Don't forget, the late Cliff Burton of Metallica used a Rickenbacker 4001. So, I already think of Metallica as a band that would use Rickenbackers.

As for Motley Crue, forget it!!!
