I think he is speaking about the 4001 in the plural Dane. Image

I think that Dane is right:
... pictures of late sixties 4001s's. ...
I read that as the plural of 4001S (a less confusing construction would be "4001S basses", clearly different from"4001 basses").

Correct there guys.

I was looking at the thread title, with the singular "s", not John's first post, where he then doubles up.

So, taking that into consideration, you will be hard pressed to find a 68/69/70' 4001S. I've never seen one.

67's however are around, and I hope to get this back in shape soon.

Thank you all guys, I have access to a great laser printer at work....same guys who let me use the computer, I have a sort of scrap book going with fellow forumites pictures that they have posted....I like to look at the photos and dream sometimes....when hockey is not on....

Jeff, your bass is the postergirl for everything wonderful about the sixties basses.....wints, your project "s" is very interesting...please keep us posted.
