For all those celebrating Thanksgiving, have a pleasant and safe holiday. Please keep the gravy away from your Rickenbackers.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Thanks Peter! You have a great weekend too. For me the Rickenbackers ARE the gravy.

Thanks Peter. As a result of you creating this website, I've been able to meet a some folks (too many to list) that I can now call friends. For that, I'm thankful!

BTW, there's no gravy at the Bengston homestead. Our Thanksgiving dinner will consist of pork & beans. That's right, I'm going to grill a nice pork loin. Plan to serve it with a salad, some homemade BBQ beans, and potato salad.

Image mmmm...gravy, and turkey, and mashed potatoes, and cranberries, and green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie, and Cool Whip, and...

Where's my fork?!

Best wishes to all on the forum. May you be surrounded by friends and family. May you truly be thankful for what you have. Finally, may you unbutton the top of your pants in satisfied bliss after a most bountiful meal.

As a Brit living in the States, I have to say I love Thanksgiving. It's really what a holiday should be all about, with it's emphasis on the basic things in life.

Compared to the crass commercialism that masquerades itself as Christmas, it is a breath of fresh air..

My future wife is going to be a Brit living in the states too and she loves thanksgiving. Every year we save the wishbone from the turkey and get the one from the year before and see who breaks off the bigger piece. The winner is supposed to get a wish and I always tell her I already got mine.....

Best wishes to all for a happy Thanksgiving. I like the sound of RCB's offering..... very tasty and sort of 'Blazing Saddles'-ish! Image

Have a great day everybody.

'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

Ahhhh.... Blighty! I have very fond memories of it:

Image

It's a town in southern New South Wales, Tony. I spent a year near there when I was a jackaroo. Nice little drinking hole..... Image
