Vocal effects

Post by myfretless »

I have a compression mic which uses phantom power. What effects would anyone suggest can be used between the mic and the power source?

I have been using effects after the power source but would like to try something different inline.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I like vocal effects in post-production.

For a unique sound, though, use run-of-the-line guitar pedals.

Right. I usually do everything post recording imput also.

But I was wondering what could be used without phantom power messing with the effects.

Hey, I'm getting back into home recording after a decade out of the game. There is a lot of equipment I'd like to upgrade but, sadly, I'm married. Anyroad, I did acquire an old Tascam 8-Track cassette recorder, and it does have an effects send option.

Here's my question: for those of you who do all your effects post-production, are you able to put a different effect on every track? Here in analog world, I am limited to two simultaneous effects over 8 tracks. Suppose it's time to leap the digital divide, but I adore the analog sound, hiss and all.

(Just to clarify, I love my wife, just can't resist a good joke.)
Here is where I hide my music:
