More of The Beatles Unheard Mixes

Post by rick36 »

I don't know if this has been posted here before, but while listening to the "Love" remixes, I was reminded of the remixes that you can make your self using a Karaoke player or that function on your Windows Multi-Channel Audio Configuration.
Original mixes of songs that benefit really well from this treatment are "Tomorrow Never Knows", "It's All Too Much", and "Birthday" to name a few.
Basically, depending on the track, you get vocals and/or certain instruments only (or vice versa), with some very interesting results. Try it, you'll like it...

Isn't this the same as 'OOPS' (Out of phase stereo)? That's where you invert one side of the stereo signal, then combine the two channels together to make a mono track. The phase inversion cancels out the common signals that are on the left and right channels.
Ka is a wheel.

That's exactly what it is. Simple, but it can yield some surprizing results - especially with the unusual stereo mixes of The Beatles post "Rubber Soul" catalog.
