Ashdown Superfly?

Post by bob_atherton »

Just wondered if anyone has seen, heard or played through the Ashdown Superfly? It almost seems too good to be true. Loads of power in a small quite inexpensive box. Do they compare in any way to the ABM range?

Bob, Wojtek Pilichowski used one through 2 4x10 ABMs at Bass Day 2006 in Manchester the other Sunday. He's a slap player though, with a sound kind of like Mark King on steroids. It sounded good, but I have no reference point so far as his bass goes, and I have no idea how it would work with a Ric. I know Mark King is using them now. I don't think they're intended to sound like the ABMs, I think they have a much more modern (think clean)tone from what I understand. I picked one up actually, and expected it to be lighter than it was. It also seemed rather deep, but that may be because it was so narrow. Definitely worth a try though!
