The fact i we see more and more of these lists, everywhere from VH1 to print pubs.

All they are are ads for old catalogs. Time has huge interests in music publishing, and with so much pop music, in the US at least, being of such little substance (hence sales of recorded music seems to be on an endless free fall) they're doing all they can to sell the old stuff to yet another new generation.

The VH1 ones are the worst. Who cares what Motley Crue's drummer thinks the best punk album is? He woudn't know quality if it landed on him.

Glenn: That reminds me of RockStar Supernova. Three burnouts from Motley Crue, Guns And Roses, and Metallica. Wanna be in a band with them? Would you have walked across the street to see a free show by any of those bands at their peak? Not me. And don't get me started on those twerps from INXS...

and how influential was THIS guy?
(and I use the word "guy" lightly)

... probably not very influential at all,
but this has got to rate as one of the
all-time bad album covers.

I read the list and was going to post my amazement at the absence of "Dark Side of the Moon", "Please, Please Me" and "Meet the Beatles", but noticed you folks are pretty darned fast and astute to boot!

However, another thing that rankled me a bit about this list is their 2000 category. Have we nothing to show for a half a decade of the 21st century but compilations of dead artists?

" Can I Borrow A Feelin'? ". Judging by ol' Cody's face it should have been called, "Can I Borrow Another Tab of Acid ? ".

I think a better title for Cody's album would be, "Are You Gonna Eat The Rest Of That?"

Yes, when Guns and Roses opened for the Stones in '89, I waited outside until they were finished. And then I was only at the Stones show because someone had free tickets, but I digress.
