360 with vintage tailpiece

Post by shackleton »

Has any one seen a 360/6 with a vintage tail piece? Isn't the hole spacing and number of screws different?
Got to start with one make it a 360/12.

Yep, but one could always drill the extra holes if they wanted to.

Here's one from the Pickguardian site, except it's a 360/12.

You should drill holes into the bracket for the trapeze tail piece, not the guitar. I did it this way.

Thanks, I couldn't tell if it was personalized, or I missed a signature model!

I won an auction for a black 360 with a vintage tail piece. I am wondering if it could have come from the factory like that? He says he got it from a hardcore Ric guy who lived near Ric and my have ordered it that way. It also has scatter wound toasters. I just won it and wont get it until next week.

At least as of late, you don't get to choose what tailpiece you want, unless it's an Accent Vibrato upgrade.

Thanks. I love the look with the vintage tail. Some say it looks cheap. I guess to some a 1954 strat looks cheap also. I hope the scatter wounds sound a little mellower than the high gains. My 360/12 sounds a little brittle on the treble pick up. I do play through a 70 twin reverb with jensens though.

I'm with you on the vintage tail Eric!
Just fitted one to my 350/JG and luv it! My 360/FG has the R tail, so now my 2 ricks are totally individual in this house!
Steve, i never thought of drilling into the trapeze bracket, great idea, but as this is for keeps, i dont mind drilling into the guitar(VERY CAREFULLY!)
Special thanks to Chris Barry for our international tailpiece swap!

do you have a photo editing program? Almost any one will do. If so, just load it and adjust the filesize and save.... do that until it gets below the magic 36KB level.
