Blues Before and After
Hi guys. You know, I have never used the Rick-O-Sound feature on my 4001. I was listening to The Smithereens "Blues Before and After" off 11. It sounds like the bass is doubled with a clean tone and one that is slightly overdriven. Is this an application of the ROS? Just wondering. This is one of my favorite Ric bands.
Never ask "how much worse could it possibly get?"
Not familiar with that song, but I have been using ROS the last week or so. Bass pup to my SVT-2 Pro with lots of bass emphasis but some mid and treble too, into 2 x 12". Bridge pup into my SVT-3 Pro into an old Heathkit TA-17 2 x 12" w/horn emphasizing the mids/treble but also good bass. Then add a little chorus to the bridge when you get feisty and it gets amazing. Really neat stereo effects plus a quasi 8 string sound with a very solid low end. Balance the amps.

I still remember how mesmerized I was when I first heard the intro to Blood and Roses. They are such a great band. I love the songwriting, the lyrics, the performances, everything. Aitch, you sent me the poster, let me know what CD's you want and I will try to procure a couple for you. Oh yeah, and the girl in "Behind the Wall of Sleep" held a bass guitar and she would play it in a band. She stood just like Bill Wyman, now I am her biggest fan!
