Does Roger have a new RIC?
Looks like Roger is using a new style headstock 370. Check out this photo.

I get a "you're not authorized to view" error.
I can e-mail and ask him (he and Camilla have always answered me in the past, we can try again) but I'd like to know what I'm asking about.
By coincidence, some might remember that I recently saw Roger in concert. During which, he said "this guitar is the guitar that was played on the old Byrds hits." (I'm paraphrasing.)
And I later asked him about that 'cause I always thought that original RIC12 was way gone. (Maybe he bought it back!)
No, he explained the guitar he used in the show was from the 70s.
I guess he meant that model guitar, not exactly that PARTICULAR guitar.
But again, if someone can repost, I'll go for it.

I was blocked at first, then I cut and pasted the URL into my browser and somehow the photo came up just fine.
If you still have problems, go to Roger McGuinn's website, click on Blog, and scroll down a little ways until you see the picture of the Chastain amphitheater. Click on the picture to enlarge it.

I haven't looked at the blog, but a possible answer is that he is using his 370/12Byrd that was made for him circa 1970..most people that follow this kind of thing consider this to be the third in the sequence of MG Rick 12-strings he owned.
This guitar started out as his other Byrd-era Rick-12s with the custom wiring circuit, but was redone at one point and the headstock routs were recut all the way through the headstock and the wiring and pots were changed to a more stock setup.
This guitar was on display at one point with the 341/12SF light-show 12-string at the RRHOF, but apparently McGuinn is using it again. Cool.

Here is Roger's answer to my question:
"That was my 1970 Rickenbacker 370 - JF 129
http://www.rockpalastarchiv.de/bild/bild/mcguin07.jpg
I played it in the Byrds with Clarence."
Hope that helps.
PS: What does the 'JF 129' mean?
