When someone other than Chris Squire has one, then I'll believe they're available.

Last time I inquired about it, the 5s didn't even have an estimated time to begin production. I won't be a bit surprised if they still aren't shipping this time next year.

No one is more disappointed about the 4004Cii5 situation than me.
If and when they do make them, I don't want gold hardware. Chrome, brushed chrome or black will last much better after years have past than gold will.
Well at least I got to touch the one Chris Squire has at the NAMM show last year. I was told that they would be in production by late spring of 2002.

Hey Scott, it's a translucent green, you can see the one they gave to Chris Squire on the RIC website. It's the one pitutered in the description of the 4004Cii5. There is a pic somewhere on a website from the winter NAMM. I'll try to find it and post it. If I can't maybe someone else here remembers the site. If not, I'll email you the pics.

OK I know you guys are probably sick of hearing/seeing this but I just want to keep Mr. Hall upto speed with how long it’s been.

today it is 508 days or if you'd like, 16 Months & 21 days!

I will post an update once a month until I get the damn thing or until I give up!

I wouldn't be too sure what Chris does with it. He's already gone on record saying he doesn't care too much for most 5-string's wide necks and after years of using his custom made Tobias 5-strings, he's said he's not all that comfortable with a 5-string bass in general. Looks like he didn't have to wait 546 days for his 4004/5 though.

OK, another month as gone by, so now it's October. and it is now 569 days since my 4004Cii was ordered.

Well to keep the anxieties down, I went out and spent some money. Oh no, not on a Rickenbacker product, the $250. dollar deposit is enough for now. No, I spent my hard earned cash on a Mesa Boogie M-Pulse 300. Boy that 4004 will sound great through it one (some) day!

It almost feels like it will never show up!

cheers

Maybe if you changed your last name to Squire ;-)
