Yeah that has got to be one of the ugliest basses I have ever seen in my life, even if it is a Ric. Anyone notice that it has checkerboard binding and full width inlays? what a waste. And what the hell is that red thing? A light? looks like tin pickups made from air condtioning duct. A bad *** bridge looks bad enough on a Ric never mind that beautiful pickguard. And the inlays look like they were painted white.
If it is a real Rick, with wide inlays and checker binding, it is really a loss... Like our vanishing wilderness and wildlife, these rare Ricks become even rarer because of hack jobs like this...
"This is the big one, Elizabeth, I'm coming to join ya, honey!"
Joey DiMaio is the bass player for the band Man O'War. If death/thrash metal is your musical preference this is a good band.
For that genre he is a good bassist and his "flash/solo" playing is comprable to Billy Sheehan. One of his show pieces is playing the William Tell Overture solo on bass. They are one of the loudest bands live too.
He walked out to face his arch-enemies with his arch-supporters.
The most mind boggeling thing is that someone actually bought this bass. Hopefully the new owner will restore it to it's former glory. Now excuse me, I feel my breakfast coming back up.
As bad as that Rick looks, it's not the worst looking modification I've seen. At least that one had some imagination go into the pickguard, as bad as it may be. The worst ones I've seen have been on ebay.
I'll give him a serious offer, burn it!!
Hey we ought to lobby the EPA to put these old Rics on the endangered species act to stop this brutal slaughtering, something on the order of a $10,000 fine for the first offense ought to do it.
