Just got my hands on a mint 2001 FG4003 lefty Ric bass. Tell me what you think. I submitted an offer to the seller and he accepted and is ending the auction early. A great Xmas present.

It looks like a very nice one with a vintage style case. Is that a plexi TRC?

Yes, all lefty Ricks have plexi TRCs. I don't think they ever made a lefty TRC mold.

Nice score BTW.

The lefty 4003's also have the more 60's-correct headstock as opposed to the bulbous-headstock.

So there are some benefits to being a lefty. I mean...you smudge ink all over your hand when you write, you have to use different scissors, you have a hard time finding guitars...but you do get a plexi TRC and correct 60's headstock with every 4003!

Yes Jeff, the bonuses outweigh the disadvantages every time (not)!

Yeah, what a life-long disadvantage being lefty. Except when it comes to playing bass in a Beatles trib band as I do!
