Alrighty then, here we go....it started life as a white 70's 4001 w/BT...you know the one...I found it online at jammin jersey's in California and swapped a F*nd*r for it...when I got it, this is what I received

yep, as you can see the binding was shaved down and all bBT was gone...The rear pickup was near dead and the front pickup was a brand new toaster. The serial number plate was generic from Ric XX1996...so the process started...This first picture (thanks to Jeff Rath) is what started my ideas...
so the undoing of the bass began

I was not able to get pics of the paint in process but have some of the post paint shots to share...
a friend of mine who is an amazing guitar builder finished the bass in what you now see. It is mathematically correct based on the dimensions of the body and the flag is placed correctly...(ask any of our British members)and here is what I received back...

Looks terrific, and he got the proportions just right, too.
I'm completing a UJ 340 for Russ Rubman, and will post pics when it's done. We're waiting for hardware...

“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”
