UPS LOST MY BASS!!!!

Post by bassman »

You guys are not going to believe this. UPS lost my bass!!!!!!

Yes my 73 Burgundyglo.

It's been lost for more than a week and I was hopeing like hell that it would have turned up by now, but it hasn't. So I need to let everyone know.

They claim they delivered it to the addess I sent it to, but don't have a signature to confirm it having been received. Apparently it was LEFT at the front door according to their website, which they confirmed.

Yes, i've been paid for it and yes it's fully insured. But that's not the point. As I told those idiots at UPS, IT'S IRREPLACEABLE!!!

If you see a beautiful 1973 BG come up for sale that looks suspicious, please let me know asap. Serial number is MD-1582.

Thx,

Jon

Sorry for your loss Jon, I hope it all shakes out in the end.

Same here, FEDEX ONLY. Anything with a claimed value of over $500.00 value REQUIRES a signature.

UPS has frequently left guitars at the door and just vanish, no signature, nothing. The LAST two packages I had, were damaged and claims had to be filed.

Jon, I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope they find it.

I've also had UPS just leave basses at the door and walk away without a signature. I usually have stuff delivered to work also.

OUCH! That really is the worst, Jon. USPS has done me wrong with losing stuff out of carelessness or laziness, but this is the first I've heard of UPS losing something (as opposed to breaking something.) Was the bass sent with some sort of "signature required" option? More options for recourse: call all the major music store chains - Guitar Center, Sam Ashe, et al and tell them of the loss incl the serial number. They have a chain-wide network email system to post warnings of stolen or lost gear to all employees. Try this with any music store chain you can think of. Obviously, keep your eyes peeled on Ebay and any other similar e-auction site, too. Thanks to the others for the heads-up on FedEx. I continue to hear good things about them. DHL is very thorough, too.

Just had a bad experience with DHL. Had a Mesa 4x10 RoadReady cab shipped to my house that had one caster ripped out of the trac lock, and another one was bent beyond belief. If you know how heavy duty Mesa's trac lock casters, however they achieved this was quite a feat.

Jon,

I am sorry to hear about your loss.

It may be of interest to you that, EVERY shipment that I have received where the carrier was UPS, arrived in damaged condition. IMO they are the most irresponsible carrier in the industry.

USPS, Purolator and FedEx are my preferred carriers.

That's terrible. And, extremely frustrating for everyone involved too.

Where was it delivered to Jon?

Aaarrghhhh!!

No way!!!!!!!

If I was on the receiving end of that deal I'd have made sure I was home that day.

What a shame. Hopefully the thief will be stupid and try Ebay.
