How Far Away Is Your Nearest Rickenbacker Dealer?

Guitar Center supposedly, there are 4 within one hour of my home (closest is 30 minutes), I checked recently and none had any, they had plenty of excuses however, I am fed up with them. They are always blaming Rickenbacker, I don't believe it though, they say that they go out as soon as they come in, if that is so, why don't they order a large lot of them, they must have some pull, they are a huge chain. At this point they are the largest guitar store(s) in Boston, you would think in a city this size you would be able to find some new Rics. They drove Wurlitzers out of business who had been a Ric dealer for years and years (and was a much better place than GC) about ten years ago, and what do we get in return? excuses, excuses, excuses. I think they would rather foist mexican junk Fenders on everyone, and claim that they are the standard Fenders everyone played in the 60's! (what they don't say is that in the 60's there was only one model of P or Jazz bass made, and they were made in USA) That is called deceptive advertising in my book.

That's about right, UPS, Fed Ex. I posted a couple of months ago that we had two Guitar Centers here in Portland, Or. They had no Rics at that time but, supposedly, would have them "coming out their ears" in a couple of months. Last I checked, about two weeks ago, they still didn't have any. You can order a Ric from Musician's Friend but, all you are really doing is using MF for a go between I believe. Anyway, this doesn't bother me to much as I don't mind waiting for a Ric!

I see music in my head transformed through my fingers but can not write a note...

No Ric dealers here in Lima, Perú either, which means none in this country I am pretty sure, I'll find 'em if they are here though, and I brought two with me. They know about them in the music stores, they are too expensive to import along with most other American guitars, you pay almost bouble here. Lots of dem foisted MIM Fenders though, along with many different types of Yamahas.

I think I found what may be the closest Ric dealer to me, in Argentina! And they are selling 4003's for around $1700.00 used. Also Brazil, but I don't know what the conversion is for their monetary unit. It's dollars, but when I saw a new 4003 listed for $5500.00, and a used for $4500.00 I asked my brother-in-law and he told me that it is different. I was headed over there with my 4001's! haha. They are very rare here, I've been meeting a lot of musicians here lately and they all comment about the Rics, they love them.
Bob: As of today at 2:00 pm, the US dollar was valued at 2.88 Argentine Pesos. Good luck.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
