I'll own up to enjoying Hermans Hermits as well (I'm Into Something Good) and T Rex, I even saw them in concert in Melbourne, 1973 I think it was.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.

John, I agree with your friends, haha!
I made the mistake of learning 1,2,3 Red Light by he original bubblegum band 1910 Fruitgum Company about ten years ago, had a steady gig three nights a week at a club and a bunch of woman loved it and kept requesting it night after night, I started to feel really silly a few weeks later and ended up cringing everytime someone wanted to hear it after a while.

I have to confess to liking a lot of Frankie Laine stuff, still think 3.10 to Yuma is a great track, also have it as an instrumental by a Dutch group called The Blue Stars if anyone wants to hear it.

Are you still telling fortunes Roy?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Ah! Dolores Erickson...

She was in a strapless bikini and three months pregnant when the cover shot was taken for this album...that's shaving cream except for the bit on her head, which is actually whipped cream.

My dad had that album. I severely strained my eyes looking at that cover.

Wow, never thought I'd know someone who knew the woman from the "naughty" Herb Alpert album cover!

I too loved that cover when I was a kid, haha! I actually liked Herb Alpert anyway and still do when I hear something by him, great band and arrangements.
I got one: Bobby Sherman, what was that big hit of his? Oh yeah: Julie, Julie, Julie, do you love me? or "Hey Little Woman please make up your mind"

Bob! I met Bobby Sherman and I have to say he was really really awesome. It was back in '95 or so, his cds were all reissued, and he had an auto-biography out.

He gave an intersting lecture/q&a session, and since he is now a paramedic, told everyone to learn cpr. He was really funny. One of his albums had him hanging out supposedly at his house, and sitting in a giant hand chair, you know, one that looks like a big hand. I asked him about it, and he was like, "oh that was my managers house!".

On a ironic note, his cd reissues were packaged about a million times better than the beatles cd issues. They had the original artwork, thoughtfully placed in the booklet, so it was a very nostalgic experience. It felt like you were holding the old album!

When I was about 16 he was really big and all my sisters were in love with him and used to play his stuff constantly.
I remember reading he was a paramedic someplace.
