Paul is dead hoax... Did they do it on purpose?

Post by westtexasrickenbacker »

Strawberry Fields Forever does sound like "Cranberry Sauce" at the song's end. However, it also sounds like "I buried Paul".

The gibberish between "I'm So Tired" and "Blackbird" on the White Album does seem to say "Paul is dead, miss him, miss him" if spun backwards.... back when that was possibleImage

Finally, the "Number 9" count patched in repeatedly on Revolution #9 does sound like "Turn me on, dead man". Again, when spun backwards.

What I've always wondered is, did the Beatles institute this out of boredom, etc. or were these simply odd coincidences......

This has been gone over numerous times by many different groups over the years. All of these 'clues' are simply coincidences. If you look (or listen) hard enough, you can find anything you're looking for to support almost any theory.

By the way, it is 'Cranberry Sauce' that John says at the end of SFF. Listen to the version on Anthology - It's clear as day. and he says it twice.

John enjoyed interjecting odd things into the recordings. Besides repeating 'cranberry sauce' over and over, I believe during one of these sessions he also counted in by repeating 'sugar plum fairy' to crack everybody up. These recordings were made during the holiday season after all.

"Sugar plum fairy sugar plum fairy" is the count in to A Day in the Life. Sir George plays it back for us in the Anthology.

Also, animated GIFs prove Paul is dead.

Come on. Did you guys SERIOUSLY think that the Beatles wrote their songs with the intention to have people play them backwards?

Not bloody likely.

I mean, what reason does a sane person have to play a record backwards? The only reasons I can think of are for fun or if that person is extremely paranoid and searching for any conspiracy connection.

In a related note, some crackpots found a reason to file a lawsuit against Queen in the eighties. Stating that their song "Another one bites the dust" promotes smoking pot.

When the line "Another one bites the dust" is played backwards it sounds like "It's fun to do marijuana" but does anybody really believe that John Deacon wrote that song with the intention of having people playing it backwards?

"yes they did"

So you're either one of those paranoid people who seem to have an urge to find anything incriminating in a song by playing it in a way the writer of the song had not thought about doing and are in dire need of councelling.

Or

You are one of those who had that urge of "Come on, let me play that backwards BS, so I can hear for myself what the hubbub was all about."

Try to pronounce "Paul is dead" backwards, it's not something you'd casually say or shout in a hurry.

Wait wait WAIT! Paul ISN'T dead???

I have a book, while good, but LOADED with inaccuracies, "Beatle Songs". It always has a "Paul is dead Hysteria" paragraph for the songs that "contain" them. The two that always gives me a laugh is the previously posted- Cranberry Sause/I buried Paul and the gibberish at the end of "I'm So Tired"-thought to say "Miss Him. Miss Him. Miss Him."

Speaking of the "He's Dead Facts", what's up with the O.P.D. patch Paul has on the Sgt Pepper album? People thought it meant "Officially Pronounced Dead"(WHY there would be a patch for that, I donno), while my book says it was supposed to mean "Ontario Police Department". Does anyone know what it's supposed to mean? Or was it just there for them to be different?

He HAS to be dead, because the patch for Ontario would be O.P.P. (Ontario Provincial Police). Image

Actually several bands placed things on their records backwards after this MEANT to be played backwards, examples Pink Floyd on the Wall (The Secret Message from Big Pink) and ELO on Fire on High.

I say you're all nutters to seriously believe in all that Bull.

You know what?

Here's a backwards phase, spoken by Adrian Edmondson in the movie "Guest house paradiso". He actually rehearsed this line speaking backwards so his mouth would have the right motions when the scene was flipped over. Here's the actual phrase, try saying it loudly and then flipping it over to see what it says.

"tnemem noem sookska."

Okay then please for the fun of it, do the backwards phrase I just posted. I am dying to see how many people get it right.

I got this from the Making of "Guest house paradiso" when Adrian Edmondson in rehearsing the line to be used in one of the fight scenes in the movie that was going to be shot backwards.

For those who know the movie, it was during the kitchen fight. Here's the link, look very closely for the backwards filmed scene.

Yo Blazer - no one belives that NcCartney is dead! the original question was were they behind it.
How do you explain pics such as that in MMT where the name plate on the desk that McCArtney is sitting at says " I Was"
