Rickenbacker 1998RM 12 string Re-Issue

Anyone remember back in 1987 when Rickenbacker reissued a nice double bound 1993 Rose Morris 12 string with the F-Hole?

Well...I can't afford an original vintage one but I am trying to find one of these re-issues and I have a couple of questions:

1. What would a market price be nowadays for one of these? I have not seen one on E-Bay for a long time but I know a guy with one in his personal collection. I was thinking of making him an offer to see if he will part with it.
The thing is...I have no idea what is fair!

2. He says he thinks that these re-issues have the wider neck profile, like on the 660. Is that correct?

That's all for now. I would really appreciate some quick help so I can make a sensible offer here.
