You have to love the cowboy boots though. I have yet to see of photo of them on stage with the pink hats that they purchased around the same time.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I know it's hard to see, but what is Lennon playing?

Is that the same Hofner Paul has in Astrid's photos at the railyard strung for leftie?

I think so. John gave Paul his when he got the 325. I understand though George had one as well.

John with Hofner Club 40, although I've also seen it refered to as the "Club 50":

http://www.clevelandmusic.co.uk/flashback.php

"....the Club 40 that John Lennon bought from Hessy's music store in Liverpool on 28th August 1959. John's Aunt Mimi paid a £17 deposit there and then, and the balance of £13/9/- in irregular instalments, the last one being on July 31st, 1960. It was this guitar that John took with him for The Beatles' first engagement in Hamburg"

The Club 50 has some clear differences from John's Club 40.

I think it might have been something like "Two pounds down and the reast when you catch me".
