4008 UPDATE!
I lent my Fireglo 4008 to Gareth - he wants to use it on an upcoming recording session. I took it over yesterday and snapped a pic while he was playing it:

It sounded really amazing through the Trace Elliot rig in the pic (actually, you can only see half of it!) - it sounded almost like there was a suboctave effect, but that was just the thundering bass, plus the clarity of the octave string, it just sounded great.
And while we're at it, I remembered that I recorded something a while ago with the 8-string - on this track I'm using it to play the melody - the bass synth is my Moog Little Phatty, drums by Greg DeGuglielmo - this one was recorded in Lodi a couple of years ago, it's a Japanese song:
