Blueburst is my favorite Rick finish. I had the NAMM 4003BBR, but sold it to get this 4004BBR...to keep diversity in my collection. That's what I told the wife, anyway.

The flash on this following shot actually brought out the flame in the wood, more than the finish.

This is an outstanding bass, all around. My first 4004 and I am very happy with it.

Greg, when did you get the Blueburst Cii? I've one on order for a year now. Are they making them again?

Very nice BBR, Greg, congrats. RIC really knows how do make a blue finish look great. I don't usually like blue guitars.

I've been able to get any Blueburst color Rickenbacker without waiting for it...I have no idea why. Lucky color for me, I guess.

This bass was built around December 15th, 2005. I bought it from Wildwood Guitars in early January 2006. I work about 5 minutes away from Wildwood, so when I heard about it I was there. It was one of two that shipped out early. The other was sold out Bass Northwest.

So far, three 4004 BBRs have been made. All have been Ciis. One went to Bass Northwest, one to Wildwood (both made last year) and one this year went to the Ricpage. Yes, I have been keeping track Image Mine was ordered by the Ricpage in March of last year (2005) and I "bought" it in November of last year. The list Ben Hall gave recently of the 4004s being made didn't contain any BBRs. All were standard type colors. We can only wait.

Indeed. I'm waiting for a 4004L BBR that was ordered by POTR in January '05, I believe.
