Well, I love "Off The Ground" but a couple of tracks clearly were terrible. Looking for Changes does, indeed, stink.

I agree that I love him but I do not see him as the Emperor. Sometimes he just wrotes bad songs, and he should s-can them. As I wrestle with the ability to write songs I feel heartened that even the great ones write a clinker or two (and even rank amateurs may reel off a gem.)

I've not even heard those two Brian Wilson "bad ones" but maybe that is a good thing?

I know this is about Paul's lesser efforts, but it is unfortunate that Brian lost that falsetto of his after those years of various kinds of abuse of substances. Just listen to "Don't Worry Baby" and "When I Grow Up" for that voice.
