Impulse Buy - 360/12

Post by stephena »

I walked into Fuller's Guitars planning to buy some new strings... and made the mistake of asking Gary to show me what they had in the Rickenbacker line. I asked if I might try out a couple... and before I knew it, the store had been closed for half an hour, and two employees had been waiting patiently for me to put the guitar down and walk away. Well, at that point I HAD to buy SOMETHING!

I'm afraid my old Vox Berkeley II amp has been a little battered over the years.

And here's a family portrait of the welcoming committee...

That poor Berkeley looks like it's been "rode hard and put away wet". That said, I've got a whole spare bedroom full of old Vox amps. I just recently found a buyer. He's going to arrange to have a moving POD sent to my house to ship them.

I had a Berkeley II, brand new, back in (must've been) '67...

Sweet and pure sounding little amp, but really down on power.

Brings back memories fer sure!

That was a great visit to Fullers guitar shop obviously. I'll bet the "family" are happy about their new sibling.

Congrats.

Stephen, that's a real nice family.

I spent the afternoon at a client's office, very near Fullers. I had planned to stop by there on my way home, but just as I was leaving, a thunderstorm with pea-sized hail struck. The visit to Fullers will have to wait until another day.

Nice score Steve, I picked up your 360/12's brother from Fuller's at the Arlington show in August. I've changed the nut to the "wider" version and am getting ready to change over the PU covers to Toaster tops. Great guitar!

I just got a 620/12 serial#0541216. I compared it to my 360/12 and its one mm narrower and each pair are further apart. Do I have the new nut?
Got to start with one make it a 360/12.

Eric, check out the "Comparison of old and new nut widths" thread under "Modern Rickenbackers 1985-present" It'll answer your questions.
