Hey Ron,

Go for it, it looks like a sweet bass, and I doubt they will be getting any cheaper...Best of luck!

I'm saving my pennies for the 4003 DCM and my 4003FL AFG that are on order and would PROBABLY arrive at my dealer the moment I placed a bid. LOL!

I talked with the shop. There is some tailpiece lift, but just slightly. It's strung with flats. I'll change those to DR Lo-Riders. Anyway, I'm thinking about $1500 and hope I steal it given the holidays.

Wish I had some extra cash around.

Besides, I still have my '73 4001, 4003 AFG and 4001C64. I was just bidding to have something different and probably would have flipped it in a year or two.

Sorry to hear that Ron. You have better self control than I do!

Thanks Joey, you are a true gentleman.

Actually, the wait isn't that bad. I'm hoping that all the PRE C64 style necks are all gone before they make mine! I REALLY would like the new style neck on that baby! Image

When that auction first started I offered the seller $1700 for it, and he accepted. Before I received his reply I bought the C64 instead, and I am glad I did.
There will be more AG's or walnuts around. Image

Congratulations Bob!

Santa came early for you! A C64 huh? We seem to have the same taste in basses, let me know what you think when she arrives!

I'm STILL waiting for "The One".

We have to get our signals together so we don't bid each other out of the game when the right one comes along.
