Well, here's an interesting bit of info:

The high bidder on one of the fake TRCs, who lives in the UK, recently purchased a "Tanglewood" fake Rick 330 on Ebay.

Three guesses where this TRC will end up!

Grrrr...

Truth is, the lettering on those fake TRCs looks like it is of the raised type rather than silk screened, which makes matters even worse - someone has gone to lengths to try and profit from counterfeit goods.
As to whether or not the fake TRCs come from China, well, this guy could be making that one up. I can only wish that whoever is pulling this stunt gets what they deserve ASAP. Merry Christmas to everybody.

This is one of the responses I received from the seller when I questioned the authenticity of the TRCs.

distributor. i think the nameplates is 10000000% original"

10000000% veracity-challenged, methinks!

Sergio, from the pics he's posted, I do think his are not raised letter...they look more like first-surface silk-screened pieces. The #3 photo you posted above looks about right...

Legit. Injection-molded plastic and raised letters.

Mimmo, as with people, each should be considered on his, her, or its own individual merits. Your TRC/nameplate, like some people whom we are all fortunate to know, is "honest", "true", "legitimate", etc.

The fakers we will save for another discussion.

Maybe that seller is lurking and has decided to play it safe and not send any fake TRCs our way... All I know is that the TRCs in some of the photos ARE counterfeit. Where are they to be sent?

Um, not to mention his varying stories on their genesis.
