I think it's been announced on Rickenbacker's official forum that there will be no colour of the year for 2007. That's fine by me. Here's my chance to finally snag a midnight blue!

Ahem...

NO COY 2007, NO COY 2007. NO COY 2007!!!!!!!

For once, I'm not being cute, there is no damn 2007 Color of the Year. It is a CATCH UP year!

Thanks for not sugar-coating it Ben. I like straight to the point answers. I wish you luck in your catch up. Image

Now it's official. Let's all support RIC's decision to use 2007 as a catch up year to reduce their backlog. I think it's a great idea.

I think it's a good idea that RIC will not have a COY for 2007 to help reduce the back log.
After reading and posting about In-N-Out Burger in another thread and reading Ben's post about "catch up" year, I couldn't help but think of:

Sorry to all who were waiting for a COY for 2007, but I for one am very glad about that decision.

The 4003 DCM and the 4003FL AFG are MORE than enough for me for one year!

I wonder if no COY in 2007 will increase the demand for COY in 2008. We may be in a vicious cycle!

A catch-up year sounds like a great idea. I know that I've bought COY instruments because they were... well... the COY. I'm sure there are others like me who similarly purchase COYs, thereby increasing orders at RIC. A year without a COY should decrease demand and allow RIC to eat into the backlog a bit. It might also allow RIC to implement some methods that would allow them to increase production.
