The photo is of a genuine one.

Two things:

1. How do we know he is shipping the exact same one shown in the photo? He told me he has ten nameplates in all, and his two other auctions were not genuine articles.

2. Why doesn't he advertise these in USA Ebay? The USA is the hottest market for Rick parts, and where probably 75% of Rick's production resides.

Answer: because he thinks his auction would be shut down. Now, why would he think that, unless...?

He's told at least two different stories on the origin of these parts.

Not trustworthy, IMO.

I'm not a lawyer, but I would think that the sale of a counterfeit item that way (not identified as a 'replica' or whatever) is fraud, period. The buyer could report the crime to the authorities and then the seller would be in the hot water he/she so well deserves.

That thing would fool none of us (choke...)

But it would fool plenty of folks who have fuzzy memories or just didn't know.

It really is hilarious how somebody could set out to copy and get it so wrong! Maybe they did it on purpose, thinking they could get around the legal. But what a travesty!

Firewood. It would burn nice and hot...and give off toxic fumes...oh, what to do?

Here's a "real" faker on eBay right now:

This listing (260070749784) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number.
Hmm. Fast.

Howard, i can remember buying something like that from a little guitar shop in Clayton about 15 yrs ago! Oh how i hate admitting that!!!
When i realized what a piece of cr#p it was, i took it back, threw it at the shop owner, and after several heated exchanges,i walked out with my cash!
If i'd known then what i've learnt here!!
Have a great 2007 one and all!
