Thanks for the input. Those of you who were with this thread from the beginning will note that the rods, tailpiece, and tuner holes were the three things I expressed concern with in my first reply to Alisha...

John S. makes a good point about having this one in hand, which is why I posted no rough pricing at this very early stage.

But we all agree it will take some work!

Thanks fellas. I appreciate the input. I guess the problem nowadays is that so many people figure that they can restore project guitars, that for somebody (like me) without the experience, tools, etc to do it myself it sometimes becomes cost prohibitive. I'll still keep my eyes open for a good one though Image

To do it myself meaning sending it to a pro like Paul. Sorry....I don't think my post made a lot of sense.

...as were Paul Boyer's, John Simmons', and Gareth Holder's, among others. Challenges never get boring!

Enough money can solve any problem with these projects... the question becomes when does it loose practicality for the individual.

Paul: Just for the record...after almost a year back in my hands, four changes of seasons and a plane trip cross-country and back (and one change of strings), the neck is still RIGHT ON, no adjustments. Really sweet.
