I know everyone has seen it, but this is a nice video.... earliest color vid.... but given that the Fabs are wearing their leathers, is this clip earlier than the film of them doing "Some Other Guy" at the Cavern?

yea, you're right. I see one mention of 'Some Other Guy' being filmed by Grenada TV on September 5th 1962. However looking at 'The Beatles - A Diary" (Barry Miles) the date is Aug 22.

Although the color clip is not visible on this site's link, it describes the date as Feb 12th or 14th 1962 at a Valentine's Day gig at Wirral Church Hall..... or a gig at St Paul's Presbyterian Church in North Road, Tranmere.
This makes sense since it took a little while after Brian Epstein became manager before they were persuaded to give up the leathers for good.
this web site says "It is the earliest-known footage of the Beatles by eight or nine months and the only colour footage in existence of them at that time. .... The next known footage is when Granada filmed them in the Cavern, but that was in black and white."
Looking at the Barry Miles book again, it seems that the Beatles were at the BBC Radio on Feb 12th and at the Cavern on Feb 14th.
On Feb 24th they played at the YMCA, Wirral. (where "the audience were bored by the group's long introductions between songs and bood them off the stage")
On March 10th they did play at St Paul's Presbyterian Church, Tranmere, Brrkenhead.
So.... it's likely that the color film is from either Feb 24th or March 10th, 1962.
