I've loved that song since hearing it 20-25 years ago. Definitely would've fit great on either "Please Please Me" or "With The Beatles."

I remember hearing their version of it all the way back in the 60s. My buddy and I obsessed over it for years, wondering where we could find their version. My earliest memory of the song was -- I THINK -- from a video of them performing several songs, including Kansas City and I'm A Loser. I always remember it was b&w, it was just them on a TV stage with a black background, and was from some British show and just replayed in the US. I remember it was mid-1964, since the songs hadn't been released here yet. When "Beatles 65" finally did come out, all the ones we had heard were on the album -- EXCEPT Soldier of Love. Thus, our obsession was born.

When I saw this thread, I thought, oh maybe this is it -- but as Michael said, this is a "fake" clip using the BBC audio. Does anyone else have any memory of a show like this, where they DID perform Soldier of Love, Loser, Kansas City, etc? Or am I just having post-60s hallucinations?

What a shame, no-one had the insight to actually film the BBC radio sessions! Some great covers, extremely well delivered! A favorite CD of mine!

Hey Jerry - Sounds like you're talking about the '64 show "Around the Beatles" They played a bunch of "greatest hits" in a medley form at the time and finished off with "Shout". It's pretty readily available on disc. No "Soldier of Love" though.

There is so much from 60-63 that wasn't filmed.
