Well...maybe only a small part was caused by a belt buckle... the rest was caused by his spiked wristlets and chains when he was putting the bass on, and taking it off...

Or maybe he meant...well most of the finish(over 50%) is still there...

Dude that's a relic, you know how much F*nder gets for a relic? It's obscene that they are getting extra $ for purposely damaging what rick players have done by accident(evidently big belt buckles were very popular in the 70's). Everybody here probably has one, here's my Feb. 73. At first I hated the way it looked and then I warmed up to it when I realized nobody can see it from the front(which is very clean looking). I like to think of it as being an x-ray view of the skunk stripe and underlying wood, which happens to be very clean looking for 34 years old.

My '73FG (stolen a couple of years ago) had more than that. It was owned by a police officer who used it in a cop band band called 'Hot Pursuit' and they played in full uniform. Those police belts really do a job to a bass.
