McFerrin and Grupa Mocarta live. they haven't rehearsed together. McFerrin would invite bands and other musicgroups over to play live with him without having rehearsed before. This made for some very exciting musical interaction.

I saw McFerrin in the early 90's with his 'Voicestra', it was one of the coolest concerts I've ever seen. Beautifully done.

I saw Bobby when he conducted The Cleveland Orchestra a few years ago at Blossom Music Center. They performed a Mozart concerto with Chick Corea handling the piano duties! Along with some other things that were performed, Chick and Bobby did some duet stuff that was pretty amazing, certainly not the stuff most folks hear at a Cleveland Orchestra concert, including a 'singalong'.

I used to bartend at Palomino under the Bay Bridge in San Francisco in the early 90's. McFerrin came in often with his drop dead gorgeous wife and beautiful children---the man has the peace of Buddha. Just the nicest guy you'd ever hope to meet.
