I'm using pyramids now, but since they are now $70.00, I'm considering chromes. I believe these are lower tension than the pyramids, so do I loosen the truss rods, install the chromes, and then tighten as needed? Or, do I install the chromes and leave the truss rods alone and then loosen them as needed?

Tim, you should give the GHS Precision Flats a try. They can nail that mellow flat "WOA" sound. I use the (.95-.40) on my 4003 and my C64S. Cheap at 22 bucks @ MF.
