Is this LH TRC legit?

Post by epitreture »

I have three left handed Ricks made before 1988 with the reverse headstock and "smiley face" nameplate and all of mine are rounded on the end. This one has a point on the end and the "made in USA" is not centered between the screw holes as it is on all of mine. Maybe I'm wrong but something just doesn't look right. What do you think?

The lettering on lefties is thicker and rounder than we see on right-handed TRCs. The odd curve of the bottom underline is also correct on this one.

I have a black/silver right handed TRC on a 430, that's even further off center than this one.

I think it's genuine.

FWIW, I think it's legit too, all the way...it looks identical to the TRC on my PMC V63 from 1999. Thicker screening and sharper points, and it's longer than the ones from the 70's and 80's.

I don't know. I have not ever seen a upside-down lefty screened TRC with the "Made in U.S.A." lettered vertically like that.
