Should the sound be the same, or extremely similar, with the C's and the V's (including the Chris Squire)?
Are the horseshoe reissues the same?
I understand the cosmetic differences, but would I expect a SONIC difference?

I am a firm believer that the tone depends on the person. Chris Squire could pick up any of my 8 various basses and would still sound like Chris Squire. And I'm sure that you , William have your own bass voice. but regarding the Rickenbacker tone, I own a V63, that sounds brighter and has more output than my 4004 II Cheyenne, but has a slimmer neck than a Chris Squire model that I almost purchased. Bottom line in my opinion, they all have their own voice, but no mistaking, they all have the Rickenbacker tone. They all sound great.
